Intellect Coaching FAQ

General Information

What does my Intellect coach do?

At Intellect, your Behavioural Health coach will be there to support you in your mental health, wellbeing, and personal development.

Coaching is a collaborative process to help you make important changes in your personal and professional life. From coping with emotional or behavioural struggles, to wanting to grow and thrive, your coach will be there to guide you in identifying your goals down into smaller steps that create forward movement and growth.

What can coaches help me with?

Intellect coaches are qualified and trained to support your wellbeing, mental health, and personal development. Depending on your needs, our coaches apply evidence-based techniques that are tailored to what is best suited for you. These evidence-based approaches include, but not limited to Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), Positive Psychology, Solutions-focused, Motivational Interviewing techniques, etc.

Intellect coaches can help support both your emotional and behavioural struggles (e.g. stress, worries, low mood, sleep, relationships.), as well as your personal or professional development (e.g. productivity, procrastination).

Please note that Intellect coaching is not intended to substitute professional health care advice, diagnosis or treatment. If you think that your mental health is severely affected, please do not delay in seeking help from a licensed mental health professional or 24/7 crisis hotlines.

What is the difference between coaching and therapy?

Intellect's belief is that anyone can benefit from working with a coach, and some people need therapy in addition to coaching.

Another important difference is that therapy is conducted by licensed mental health professionals who are responsible for clinical diagnosis and treatment for clinical issues (e.g. clinical depression, anxiety), whereas Intellect coaches focus on more common struggles or even personal growth in general (e.g. stress, low mood, personal growth, wellbeing).

If you are experiencing a clinical need, please consult a professional mental health provider, in addition to using the Intellect platform. You can also work with your dedicated coach to determine if you would benefit from therapy.

Where can I seek further mental health support?

If you find yourself struggling with your mental health, do not hesitate to reach out for further support.
